Why Give to Objective 20/20 ?

Dear Friends of Farel,

I want to invite you to support the ministry of L’Institut de théologie réformée Farel by contributing to our fundraising campaign Objective 20/20.

At the end of 2019, Farel received a very generous gift of $ 20,000 to establish our Fleur-de-Lys Bursary Fund.

In 2020, the 40thanniversary of Farel, our goal is to add another $20,000 for student bursaries and to raise $20,000 to develop Farel’s mission: Objective 20/20.

Padre (Capt) David Castonguay (2014) is a military chaplain, currently posted to Personnel Services of the 2nd Canadian Division. He writes:

       “Farel enabled me to discover the foundations of my own faith and to deepen my knowledge of our God perfectly just and perfectly loving. Confidence in Jesus Christ, being at the heart of my studies, now helps me in my ministry to soldiers, because I know that all does not rest on my shoulders and that I’m therefore free to serve and to love them.”

Farel is a Reformed centre of pastoral and missionary training affiliated with the Faculté de théologie évangélique de Montréal. Please consider two (2) important reasons which may convince you to contribute financially to this double training offered in the French language:

  1. Excellence. The church needs leaders trained in Holy Scripture, Christian doctrine, and church history, as well as in starting new churches and providing pastoral care in existing ones. The church also needs members who are both thoughtful and practical, able to live as Jesus’ disciples in their chosen vocation in every area of society. 
  2. Perseverance. The church needs courageous and resilient servants, particularly in difficult and trying situations. It also needs disciples committed to living publicly for Jesus, even when this is unpopular. Theological education helps produce the deep convictions and habits needed to sustain mission over generations.
